Policies and Procedures

Standing Rules—Active Members

1.  All members must attend at least six (6) of the nine (9) meetings.  Each member will be notified by letter after missing three meetings by the Recording Secretary.  After missing the fourth meeting, a letter of explanation must be submitted to the Recording Secretary within two weeks.  The Board will accept or reject this letter.

2.  Yearly dues are $25. Members will be charged a $1 assessment per month for dues which are late as of the September meeting.

3.   Lunch reservations will be $25 per year.  Members are responsible for canceling lunch reservations by the Wednesday before our meetings if they do not want to be charged $5.  In 2000, it was voted that members will pre-pay for six meetings.  This is due by the September meeting.

4.  Guests are welcome to any meeting between the months of September through April.  Reservations are required by the Wednesday before the meeting.

5.  All luncheon receipts need to be turned into the Treasurer before hostesses can be reimbursed.

6. For the DGC 2008-09 year, the Executive Board voted to add several new projects.  All members will be required to participate in Clean Up/Green Up, the Greenwood Farmers’ Market, and our annual Fundraiser.  In addition, participation will be required of each member for at least one additional project which will be assigned at our first meeting.

Responsibilities of Membership and Good Conduct in Meetings
Belonging to any organization carries with it certain responsibilities.  Let’s please try to remember these and things will work smoothly.  All it takes is common sense and good manners.

  • Acceptance of some of the responsibility by serving whenever and wherever needed.
  • Regular attendance at meetings.
  • Arrive at meetings before time for the meeting to begin.
  • Try to remember the speaker.  He/she is an invited guest of the club and every courtesy should be extended by the club – including not leaving in the middle of the speech.
  • Refrain from whispering or causing other disturbances during the meeting.
  • Be thoughtful, kind, and considerate and honor those who deserve it.
